Malaysian Culture: What is "Queue Up"? I tak tahulah!

It irritates me at how Malaysians love to cut the queue. The most frequent crime scene? The toilet!
Every time when I enter the toilet/water-closet, there are bound to be people coming in later and obtaining a stall first. It makes me go WHAT-THE-HECK I was here first and I have to pee first okay!

Malaysian women have this tendency to wait in front of a specific stall. They just walk straight in without seeing who was here first and zup! Once they see a cubicle door open, they rush straight for it. GRR.

The management of any malls in Malaysia should seriously put a yellow tape that says "QUEUE UP AND WAIT FOR YOUR BLOODY TURN".

There are people like me *ta-da* who have the politeness and courtesy to observe and know who was here first and let them use the cubicle first. These polite and courteous species are ALWAYS BULLIED. Heck, the word 'often' cannot even be used. I very often hear the polite and courteous species complain about the rude and no-mannered women who just rush for the stalls without waiting for their turn. Even FOREIGNERS complain! What a way to build a good image for our country.

Countries like Japan and Korea do not even have yellow tapes that says "QUEUE UP" but the people there automatically line up once the cubicles are all taken, each waiting for their turn. They are all so courteous and disciplined!! WHAT IS THIS MALAYSIA!

When I was in Korea, the toilet was filled up so everyone was queuing up patiently and there was this lady who I am 100% sure was Malaysian (because she held a red Malaysian passport in her hands and she looks like a Malaysian and she spoke Bahasa Melayu to her friend) just cut the bloody queue, walk straight in and wait in front of a cubicle! THE HORROR! So embarrassing you know!
All the Korean women were exclaiming "Bo-yah igo neun!(what is this/what the heck!)" and shooting the 'go and die' daggers from their eyes. Everyone was frowning at her. This Malaysian girl damn thick skin. She looks around, feels uncomfortable, sorta know what is going on but didn't do anything! Just wait there and went in when the person came out from the cubicle.
When she came out, a Korean lady who could speak English looked at her and exclaimed, "Do you have a bad stomach ache? Diarrhea? Or you do not learn how to queue up in your country?"  OHOHOHOH BURNNNN!
The Malaysian girl looked at everyone staring at her and she still had the nerve to tell her friend "I tak tahulah perlu queue up. Perlukah mereka tengok saya macam tu."
ERM HELLO?? ARE YOU BLIND OR SOMETHING? CAN'T YOU SEE EVERYONE IS QUEUING UP??

Just yesterday I was in tHE Spring (a shopping mall in Kuching) and I went to the toilet. A lot of people were waiting in front of the stalls and in came a few more people who just walked in, occupy the stalls before those who were already there for quite a while could go in. Surprise surprise. There was this pregnant lady who had been waiting there for quite awhile and the people who just entered the toilet quickly zoomed past her and occupy the stalls. WHAT THE HECK. What happened to humanity??
Pregnant women usually need to pee more often and they just brushed past her!

It is essential and COMPULSORY for every mall in Malaysia to put a yellow tape/line that says "QUEUE UP". We need fairness in this country. Everything is so unfair here already. We need to at least have this little rule and courtesy.

Youth Convention 2012

Sarawak Methodist Youth Convention 2012 (SMYC/YC) was held on the 3rd of December at Wesley Methodist Church Sibu. It was an awesome awesome experience! The theme was iHOG (i Hold Onto God). hee-haw, howdy!

The event itself was truly powerful. Right on the first day Pastor Arnold Oh (theme speaker) hit right on the spot. Never have we all encountered being touched by the Holy Spirit on the first day as it always happens on the last few days of the event. You can totally see how different this convention is from the past ones. All my youth members came home so passionate and fired up for God. They were all so ready to spread what we experienced to those who did not manage to go.

My youth members are usually introverts while I'm the black sheep a.k.a the extrovert. Oh boy how they changed! Jumping, singing with their heart, doing actions and clapping with joy have replaced the standing still, emotionless and the unwillingness to move about and do actions!
As SMYC is held only once every two years, we get to meet both old and new friends from previous SMYC and also the current one.

We had activities such as Fun in the Sun, visit to the Methodist Heritage museum and a trip to Sibu's pasar malam (night market). There were lots and lots of durians (king of all fruits), longans and kalangs (asian olive) all around Sibu. As it rains quite often in Sibu, we were all given an umbrella. Sadly, mine got taken away by someone else  :(
